*** UPDATE! PLEASE NOTE THAT ORDERS PLACED FROM 15 DECEMBER WILL ARRIVE AFTER CHRISTMAS. WE HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY THEM FOR YOUR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION. ***
Happy holidays to you and yours. We're quickly closing in on Christmas and are reminding everyone to make sure to order your bottles of Nostalgin now for New Year's delivery. With Covid restrictions and many more people shopping online, Royal Mail is overwhelmed and advising extended delays to their normal 3-5 day service. Christmas orders are taking 12-14 days. For those of you in our region, the distillery is open Thursday through Sunday, Noon to 4pm. Next week we are open Wednesday the 23rd and Thursday the 24th from Noon-4pm for last minute gifts. Nostalgin is also stocked at the following locations in Scotland: Geraldo's of Largs; The Jar in Troon; Hollowpark Stores in Ayr; Main Street Store and Post office in Dunlop; McCaskies Butcher in Weymss Bay; The Big Night In, Gourock. You can purchase Nostagin to be shipped to Europe through Craft56.co.uk and internationally through whiskyinternationalonline
The weather outside is frightful (it is Scotland, after all), but the fire is so delightful! It's Christmas at the distillery and we're all warm and cozy here in Millport. If you can't be with us in person we thought we would bring you inside by sharing a few pictures of our decorated shop with you. Throughout Millport, businesses and homes alike are busily decorating, in preparation for Santa's arrival. A contest for the best window, tree and garden runs through December 19th with winners announced December 20th. You can follow the event on facebook at Millport Photos
Last Sunday we had a very special visit to the distillery by Millport's own wee reindeer, Layla, and her owner Tiffany. Layla is a gorgeous Shetland pony who lives with her family in Millport. How cute is she!! Move over Rudolph!!
It's definitely the time of "Christmas Presents" and we are grateful for so much support in our first year as you gift family and friends their first bottle of Nostalgin. Buying local has never been so important in this extremely challenging year. And we have lots to look forward to in the New Year as well. We anticipate receiving our final licence in January so will be ready to start distilling in Millport in the New Year. And we will be shortly announcing our next gin, which is sure to be a hit! Stay tuned!
Once the frenzy of Christmas shopping is finally over and we are settled at home for the holidays, for the most part, we will be without our normal gathering of family and friends. It will be a challenging time for many, especially those home alone. We've been thinking a lot about how we can help people stay connected with their favourite Scottish town of Millport and think ahead to 2021 when hopefully we will be able to travel again. So, mark your calendars for the 12 days of Christmas...or should we say the 12 days of MILLPORT! From December 25th to January 6th, Isle of Cumbrae Distillers, in association with the Isle of Cumbrae Tourist Association and Ginspired Scotland, will be giving you 12 reasons to make sure Millport is on your list of places to visit for 2021. AND, we will be giving you opportunities EVERY DAY to win fantastic prizes! So, make sure to follow up daily on facebook or instagram @isleofcumbraedistillers from December 25th to January 6th. We'll also make sure to include newsletter subscribers so you can participate in the contest, so look out for our next newsletter December 28th.
As we come to the end of this extraordinary year, remember to be good to yourself this Christmas. From all of our team at Isle of Cumbrae Distillers, we thank you for your support and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Bronwyn, Jenine, Juli, Lynda and Philippa
